The Photographs you will see in this post were the outcome of my trip to Ponmudi Peak in Kerala, near Trivandrum City. I accompanied my best friend Mouli, who was there for his Final project on ‘Kangaroo Lizard’ for the completion of his Masters degree in Wildlife Biology. He is a good friend of mine and one of the two, who encouraged in my interests of rescuing snakes. I spent 6 days at Ponmudi Peak, trekking through the forest at least some 8 to10 KMs everyday, witnessing the fascinating variety of wildlife. Whenever I witness places like these, I feel that nature comes in close contact with us humans. I cannot but get lost in admiration...
From the day one of my stay at Ponmudi, this tree was appealing me with its unique beauty which I'd rather call it an Art of nature.
We were waking by the road in search of reptiles around 12 in the mid-night. I was restless looking around to photograph anything that would appeal to me. After several long hours of walk and tired of our search in the dark, we came to rest on the ground. Until then this beauty was unnoticed.
This is a view of surrounding mountain ranges from Ponmudi Peak. Being on Top of everything is always a nice experience. Some more for you to check out....

Nature never stops communicating and teaching us it's only we who need to take a little time to listen to its wisperings.

I'm not here to re-present the nature - as people often do, but am here to remember and register it in my own way.

Sometimes, nature can also represent us humans, but that depends on the way we look at it.

After two days of trekking we found a Malabar Pit Viper which was one a plant of about 4ft from the rooks of the stream we searching in. This is first time in my life I'm seeing it in the forest and also first time using flash from a different direction. The light was dynamic and was able to give importance to only things that need to be.
This is another individual of the same spices whom I encountered in my trip. Here I used my built-in flash with a diffuser, and a flash exposure compensation of +1
1/2 stop. Which came out well and this photograph in one way gives the spectator a chance to know it's habitat too.

Above photographs are taken with a macro filter attached to the lens. And that took me to whole new world. Very often we are very close to certain realities… still we fail to notice them...
Still Under Construction...
